Little Bit Better Day

image

It seems a few people got out today trying there luck fishing as some sunshine and warmer weather. Crystal Lake had some fisherman off of Lpbb Rd. doing good on perch, also Railroad point seems to have some fisherman .

Big Glenn has been good also on perch.

But most have been slow with the cold weather and we all are waiting for a warm up.

FISHING CONDITIONS ON LAKES CADILLAC AND MITCHELL

FROM PILGRIM VILLAGE FISHING SHOP

Below zero temperatures separated the men from the boys. It was obvious who was prepared with their shanty and heaters. Keeping holes open was a problem. Even the fish were shivering below the ice. Anyone out deserved fish for their efforts.
New snow keeps the snowmobilers smiling and plenty of ice keeps the ice fishermen mobile. Snowmobiles, quads and even trucks chris cross our lakes.
Winter is here for real! The ice is thick, oxygen levels are depleting and thereâ??s lots of snow. Those catching the most fish are cutting extra holes and using electronics to find their dinners. The mistake many make is to cut a hole, set their shanty over it and wait.
Gerald Chesney from Harrietta wasnâ??t intimidated by the weather. Check out his 39 ¼ inch, 15.4 pound northern caught on a tip-up from one of the coves on Mitchell. Definitely the fish of the week. Ricky Nye is back. This time with his limit of pike. His tip-ups were working on the west side of Cadillac. Young Gerrett Foster didnâ??t limit out but heâ??s proud of his 29 ½ incher also caught on Cadillac.
Canâ??t forget the spear guys. Scott McConnell is in 5th place in the Spearing Contest, with a 32 incher from Mitchell. The Dark House Pro, Tom Richards is pictured with a 30 inch, 9.2 pound bowfin speared on Mitchell.
The current Standing of the Pilgrim Village Spearing Contest are:
1st Place George Fox 34 ½ inches, 9.5 pounds
2nd Place William Beaver 34 ½ inches, 8.8 pounds
3rd Place Brian Brown 33 ¾ inches, 8.5 pounds
